Abstrak/Catatan Among many kind of drinks tea is most preferable drink for Indonesia people. Compare to other drinks, tea has a lot of benefit to our healthy. Tea are able to prevent some diseases and help for recover process from simple diseassuch as influenze to chronic hard disease; that could cause death such s cancer. Variety of tea can be selected referring to te flavor. Acute toxicity test (Lathal Dose) has been conducted of the extract of green tea leave (Camellia sinensis (Linn), Kunze) to the safity and symptom less as well. The test used mice as an animal experiments. The acute toxicity test use Well, C.S (1975) method for the acute toxicity test and paget. GE and Barnes, JM (1964) method for symptom test, high dosage under LD50 value are given to the mice, while gree tea leave extract is made by percolation according to the method in Indonesia Pharmacope III . One kilogram of green tea powder produced an extract of 375 g or 37.5% of rendemen (sample). The result showed the LD50 value of green tea have extract was 3.303 (2.10-5.14) mg/10g body weight i,p. By extrapolating the value as per oral in mice based on Gleason test (1969), the extract was classified as a Practically Non Toxic (PNT). The symptom test proved that green tea leave extract in a dosage of 2,7 mg/10 g body weight influenced the nerve system.
